The Commission Process
Original Pastel Paintings by Robin Frisella PSA-MP, IAPS/MC
A Few Recent Commissions…(Click to enlarge)
I welcome opportunities to work with my Collectors to create custom commissioned pastel paintings for their spaces. My goal in accepting commissions is for the process to be a pleasant and exciting experience for my Collectors and myself.
Our first meeting will help to determine the style, size and objects that you would like included in your custom piece. It often times includes pieces of nostalgia or treasures borrowed from my Collectors.
Usually within 2-3 weeks the Collector will be emailed photos of set-ups based on our discussions. I welcome input as to what the Collector likes/dislikes. The clearer you are on your vision for the piece, the quicker I can get started. I will do one set of revision photos if needed to find the right combination for your piece.
Pricing on the artwork includes all labor, materials, supplies, and expenses related to creating this piece. In addition, the piece will be framed using Museum quality materials. I have chosen a frame that works well with my paintings (dark frame with a bronze/gold inner lip). Collectors may choose another frame and will be responsible for any additional costs associated with the framing changes (if applicable). Original paintings will not be sold without a frame.
No work may be reproduced by the Collector without the prior written approval of the Artist.
A 50% non-refundable deposit will be collected to start the process. Once a design (photo) has been agreed upon, and the contract has been signed, the painting will begin. Depending on the size of the piece and schedule of the artist, the painting process usually takes between 3-6 months.
Upon completion, the Artist will notify the Collector and have the work professionally photographed for her archives. The balance of 50% will be due when the Collector picks up the finished piece.
