Highlights from Albuquerque / IAPS
Had the best time with Debby at the IAPS (International Association of Pastel Societies) convention in Albuquerque, NM.
Top 3 Highlights…
1 - I can finally share the piece I have in the Master Circle division of the show.
"Inspired by Nature” Original Pastel 16x20
Such a great honor to hang with some of best pastel artists in the world!
2 - Being asked to give a 3 hour demo in the UArt Sanded Paper booth at the trade show. They make my favorite sanded pastel paper, I use it exclusively in my work (400 Grit). It allows me to put up to 25 layers of pastel.
3 - Achieving the level of Master Circle Pastelist. (My 6 year old grandson is going to be jealous of my gold medallion. It’s a close tie with his camper of the week medal.🤣)
I learned so much from watching 4 amazing artists demo at the convention and enjoyed all of the events. It was great to spend time with all of the Pastel Society of NH artists too.
Spending a week at the IAPS Convention in Albuquerque, NM was amazing! Truly the highlight of my year!! I also did a three day excursion to Santa Fe. It was love at first sight. Such a spiritual place! I’ll go back for sure!
